In a business context these lessons led to the development of multiple frameworks we used to help our clients, including Deloitte's Enterprise Value Map™ (2001), CFO Value Map™ (2011), and Sustainable Value Map™ (2023).
These frameworks define and explain the drivers of business performance through different lenses, and they have been utilized by executives and their companies across the globe for more than two decades. They have received recognition from trade groups, industry analysts and think tanks, and publication in major business media including The Wall Street Journal. More than one million are in circulation in various formats, adaptations, and languages.
Outside of business I worked to apply the same methods and principles to the performance of students, schools, and districts.
Working with researchers, teachers, parents, and administrators, I developed the Education Performance Map™ (2005) to depict the drivers of student and school success. For two decades, this framework has been used by governments and school districts in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to consider and focus their education improvement efforts.
Now I'm using InsightMaps as a vehicle to apply value map thinking to other important systems that affect peoples' lives.
The new Personal Wealth Map™ is intended to help people understand how to use their assets and resources to build the financial lives they want for themselves and their families. It incorporates insights and feedback from people in a variety of life stages and financial situations, and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the many folks who helped make it better. Check it out, and send me your feedback on how to make it more helpful!
Please reach out if you would like to be involved with the development or application of approaches like these and/or if you have feedback you'd like to share!
I also conduct guest talks and workshops--make sure to visit he Guest Speaking page on this site. For more information about my background, please clicke the LinkedIn link below.
Let's make the most of our collective insight to help people improve things that matter!
